Milestones of Laxmi Charitable Trust 2017 Mazgaon Dock Limited continued with its grant for the cataract surgeries. This year the no. of surgeries were increased to 6000. A new project of eye checkup for Truckers (Drivers, Cleaners and Support staff) of trucks was launched in collaboration with sight saver. “Aakho Aakhon Main” A musical programme was organized for the awareness of eye donation in collaboration with Rotary Club of Panvel during eye donation fortnight 25th August to 8th September, 2017. "FRCS Refresher Course 2017", conducted at Laxmi Eye Institute on the 19-20 August. Glaucoma Awareness Rally was organized for the awareness about glaucoma eye disease at Kamothe. Pali center inauguration with full fledge secondary eye care center. MUHS affiliation with Laxmi College of Optometry and Laxmi Charitable Trust, Eye Hospital for fellowship programme. 2016 Started an ambitious project of school screening of students from all Zilla Parishad School from Panvel Taluka. Collaboration with Sight Savers (International NGO) for starting a New Vision Venter at Turbhe Pawne, Navi Mumbai. Mazgaon Dock Limited came forward with a grant for 5000 cataract surgeries to Laxmi Charitable Trust, Eye Hospital, Panvel under its CSR activity. 2015 Swades Foundation programme continued in full swing with addition of third MEC van and we were able to cover Mhasla Shrivardhan Tala and Poladpur talukas with the help of all the three MEC (Mobile Eye Clinic Van) A seminar on sports vision was conducted by Laxmi College of Optometry and was attended by more than 200 participants from 9 colleges of optometry from Maharashtra and Gujarat. 2014 Swades Foundation programme continued in full swing with addition of one more MEC (Mobile Eye Clinic Van) which covered Tala Taluka. Laxmi Charitable Trust, Eye Hospital, Panvel was accredited to college of Physicians and surgeons for Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmology. 2013 Laxmi Charitable Trust, Eye Hospital, Panvel. Joined National Programme of eradication of Avoidable Blindness as a Member of Vision 2020 India. Joined in hands with Swades Foundation for community outreach programme. Started vision Screening of each and every person at village level through door to door visits by health workers (swaraksha mitra) Patients with eye problem were referred to mobile eye clinic which visits designated villages. The patients with refractive errors were dispensed with necessary spectacles and those who require further treatment or surgery are referred to base hospital at Panvel. All these services are given free of cost to the patients. 2012 Association with 'Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation' and 'Swades Foundation' Awareness program about eye donation through a quiz competition, - "Khel Najrecha" was held throughout the district.
