      Mobile Eye Clinic

Medical facilities are so inadequate in the rural area of Raigad District that patients staying in remote areas have to travel many kilometers to avail general medical facilities. Eye care is in still worst condition. Lack of awareness and knowledge about eye care adds to the problems in eye care.

Over the years we realized that the people find it difficult to reach out even to camp places for their treatment of eye problems, because of several reasons. Laxmi Charitable Trust has now started an ambitious project of a Mobile Eye Clinic. Mr. Mohan and Mrs. Snigdha Warty, Village Development Council (VDC) London, have donated this Mobile Eye Clinic.

      Village Development Council (VDC) LONDON
The Village Development Council London (VDC) was formed in 1979 under the patronage of the High Commissioner for India Mr. Nanasaheb Gore. The driving spirit behind the organisation was Late Mr. Y. M. Bijwe, left us to lead the path he created. VDC is a registered charity and has a governing executive Committee of volunteer workers, which is presently led by a President, Jyotsna Kalbande.

Funds are raised by VDC members and volunteers and have been deployed to finance village-based projects, which are thoroughly scrutinized by executive committee members. VDC is proud of the range of projects funded over the past 30 years, nevertheless, a lot more needs to be done. VDC therefore remain committed to raising funds and VDC highly appreciative of donations to support this continuous and unending process.

VDC celebrated 30th anniversary in the year 2009 and VDC remain committed to supporting registered organisations in improving the quality of life of people living in villages throughout India.

      The Mobile Eye Clinic

The Mobile Eye Clinic is fully equipped to take care of primary eye care with trained personnel, which can be taken to the remotest places to provide quality eye care to all. The project is launched in the month May’ 2013. This will really fulfill our dream of "Reaching to Unreached" .
