With a blink an eventful day of “Sports Vision” seminar fruitfully got over but, the memories, the knowledge exchanged will last forever……….. What a wonderful day with great personalities and young optometrist who brighten the event! The seminar started in a traditional way by lighting the lamp by chief guest - Mrs. Kunda Ganatra, Dr. Rita Dhamankar (Principal of Laxmi College of Optometry), Mr. Mohan Hindupur, Mr. Rakesh Kaushal and Mrs. Vidula Patil. The inspiring speech by Dr.Rita Dhamankar and Mrs. Kunda Ganatra took the event to a higher level. They were the powerhouse of motivation, pushing the boundaries to make this world of optometry a better place even in small ways. It was followed by talks on various aspects of sports vision from eminent speakers such as Mr. Nirav Mehta, Mr. Purushottam Naidu, Ms. Vidyut Rajhans and Mr. Keyur Sharma. Guest of honor Ms. Yogita Rajghandhi, Mrs. Kavita Mittal, Mr. Prasad Sawant and Kunda Ganatra also judged the free paper session. The event was accelerated by the demonstrative sessions and the presentations done by Mr. Prashant Bhatkar, Mr. Sanket Sonawadekar, and Mr. Rakesh Kaushal on aiming sports and Ms. Trupti Khaladkar, Ms. Sarita Deshpande, Mrs. Vidula patil on assessment of visual skill. Event was also graced by the presence of ASCO C.E.O Prof. P Sudarshan. Lastly the winners of free paper session were awarded. Ms. Girija Khaladkar from MES College of Optometry won the first prize where as runner up trophy was shared by Ms. Vrushali Patil [Laxmi College of Optometry] and Ms. Annuja Deshchowgule [MES College of optometry]. The program was concluded by vote of thanks by Mr. Mohammed Kazi followed by National anthem. The participation of 9 colleges, their respective HODs, faculties and over 200 participants was highly appreciable. We also expressed our sincere thanks to the team work and support by our ever ready to work volunteers. We cannot thank everyone enough for their involvement and their willingness to take on the completion of tasks beyond their comfort zone. |
